JEWELRY DESIGNER / LA CA / 1996 / VISUAL ARTS
Larisa Laivins is a jewelry designer and apparel design consultant living in Los Angeles. She studied painting and design at Rhode Island School of Design in Providence, and Visual Arts at Booker T Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts in Dallas.
Larisa designs and produces a line of fine jewelry under her name in Los Angeles. It is sold on her website and boutiques in the US.
Larisa also consults for fashion brands as a knitwear designer. She spent 8 years as a designer at Ralph Lauren learning everything there was to know about yarn, knitting and how to get things made. In the following 7 years she lent her expertise to Juicy Couture, Fossil, Lands End, Cardigan, Soyer, Kelly Wearstler, Jenni Kayne and other brands.
Larisa loves the challenge of raw materials and the orchestration required to make something compelling and bring it to market with inspiring supporting material.
I am so glad that Arts was the coolest school in town when I was deciding on a high school. If I’m honest, that was the main criteria for my choice, but it turned out to possibly be the best decision of my life – setting me on the path to this creative multifaceted life I now lead. Going to school there was the super fun, inspiring and challenging - when I got to art school I felt ahead of the game thanks to the guidance (and constructive criticism) of teachers like Ms. Chambliss, Mr. Moseley and Ms. Miller. Please reach out – I’m happy to talk about anything from fine art to the fashion business.
